Cat Deeley made an unexpected stop at a supermarket in her National Television Awards gown on Tuesday, before her show 'This Morning' secured the Best Daytime prize. The presenter, 49, shared a glimpse of her evening preparations with fans on Instagram, revealing her fashion choices and a humorous detour.
While getting ready for the awards ceremony, Deeley was seen enjoying a glass of wine. She later headed to a Morrisons store in her Giambattista Valli dress, documenting the moment on social media. "Just in Morrisons, heading down to the carpark. I'm on the travelator! Place your bets in the comments. What am I looking for?" she quipped to her followers.
Deeley detailed her outfit, noting the Giambattista Valli dress was from her own wardrobe. Her accessories included a vintage Valentino necklace, antique Indian Jhumka earrings found in New York, and Jimmy Choo platform shoes.
Following the awards, where 'This Morning' triumphed over rivals such as 'Good Morning Britain' and 'Loose Women', Deeley and co-host Ben Shephard, 51, appeared on the show the next morning. They discussed their victory and confessed to a late night, with chef Jamie Oliver preparing bacon sandwiches for them. Shephard humorously noted they had nearly lost the award, remarking, "We got it here, might have a little graze on it, but that's another story for another day."
Deeley also shared a personal anecdote about her son Milo joining her in bed at 2 a.m., asking if they had won. "I said 'Yes, now close your eyes and go back to sleep,'" she recalled.
Oliver explained that the chilli in their bacon sandwiches was beneficial for hangovers, describing capsaicin as "nature's natural form of morphine" that can help thin the blood and combat effects of alcohol.
The win marked a successful night for the 'This Morning' team, including Friday hosts Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary. The ceremony also saw other notable moments, including a mention of past post-award hangovers from former presenters Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield.
