Kate Tickle, a 42-year-old former model and mother of four, has landed her first Hollywood acting role in a forthcoming biopic of fashion icon Giorgio Armani, months after overcoming a stage 1 HER2-positive breast cancer diagnosis. Her journey to the screen began unexpectedly when a vivid dream prompted her to seek medical attention.
Tickle described how the dream was so realistic that she felt a lump, leading her to consult doctors. Although physicians could not initially feel a lump, a mammogram revealed an abnormality. She underwent chemotherapy treatment, completing it in November.
In June, Tickle received news of her casting in "Armani: The King Of Fashion," where she will portray a personal assistant to the designer. This marks a significant career milestone for Tickle, who previously worked as a body double for Uma Thurman and as a personal assistant to filmmaker Michael Winner, but had not yet secured a Hollywood role.
The opportunity arose through Italian producer Andrea Iervolino, a friend of Tickle's husband, music producer David Tickle. "When I told Andrea everything I had been through and how I wanted to inspire my four boys and anyone going through similar things, he wanted to make it happen," Tickle stated.
Tickle shared her story to offer hope to others facing life-changing circumstances. "Your dreams in life don’t have an expiry date, and your diagnosis doesn’t mean life is over," she said. "I want other people who receive the news they have cancer, or any other life-changing circumstance, to keep believing there is life after treatment and joy after fear, and that they are stronger than they know."
Giorgio Armani died in September at the age of 91.
