A popular Instagram fan account devoted to Barron Trump is run by a 19-year-old Brazilian schoolgirl who says people close to the former president’s family have sent her private messages, though she denies any direct contact with the Trumps.
The account, barrotrump, launched in March 2023 when the operator said she was 17 and motivated by what she described as a teenage crush. At the time of the interview with the Daily Mail, the profile had about 456,000 followers and had published 178 posts, largely photographs and short videos of Barron Trump from childhood through recent public appearances.
The account owner told the Daily Mail she had never met Barron Trump or any member of his family and had not been hired by them. "I've never talked to Barron Trump or anyone else from the Trump family that I know of," she said. She added that while she receives a large volume of direct messages from other fans and from people she described as "close to the Trump family," those messages did not contain anything she considered compromising.
Posts on the account range from childhood images with his parents, Donald and Melania Trump, to footage of Barron at public events. She also expressed admiration for Melania Trump, telling the Daily Mail she finds the former first lady "an elegant, enigmatic, strong and incredibly sophisticated woman. I just love the way she presents herself: always impeccable, with a posture that conveys power, confidence and class. Melania has that kind of classic and timeless beauty, but what enchants me most is her aura of mystery and the firm way she deals with everything, without having to say much. She is truly a powerful woman."
Barron Trump, who is the same age as the account operator, has maintained a largely private life since leaving the White House as a child. He was a student at New York University and was spotted on campus last year. Media reports have said he spent part of a recent semester away from NYU and that, over the summer, he prioritized business pursuits over personal relationships, taking meetings with potential partners and working on tech projects, according to people described as insiders.
The barrotrump profile is part of a wider phenomenon in which social media accounts devoted to the children and relatives of public figures attract significant followings.
