Recent resurfaced photographs of actor Brandon Sklenar have prompted widespread surprise among fans who note a significant transformation in his appearance from his earlier acting days. The 36-year-old star, known for his roles in "It Ends With Us" and "1923," appears markedly different in a clip promoting the 2018 film "Mapplethorpe."
In the resurfaced footage, Sklenar, who stands at 6 feet 2 inches, is described as having a more youthful, lanky physique. This contrasts sharply with his current, more muscular build, which has garnered attention in recent projects such as "The Housemaid." Fans have taken to social media to express their astonishment, with comments ranging from "What a transformation, look at him now" to questions about whether it is indeed the same person.
Sklenar's physical regimen has been a subject of discussion. In 2025, his personal trainer, Wesley Wilson, shared insights into his demanding routine, which reportedly included over two hours of daily workouts and a substantial diet. Wilson emphasized the actor's dedication, stating the results were "the result of showing up day after day for months and months."
Sklenar himself has previously spoken about his commitment to fitness and utilizing his physical capabilities in his roles. He noted in an interview with Sydney Sweeney for Interview Magazine that he performed most of his own stunts in the television series "1923," citing a background in fighting and construction that made him inclined to use his body actively. He told Men's Active Magazine that his training prioritizes functional strength to meet the physical demands of characters.
Last year, Sklenar was indirectly involved in a legal dispute surrounding the film "It Ends With Us." Following Blake Lively's lawsuit in December 2024, unsealed documents included text messages between Sklenar and Lively. Sklenar, who played Lively's character's love interest, Atlas Corrigan, in the film, stated in December 2025 that he received taunts from online trolls after he posted a statement encouraging kindness during the unfolding drama. He told The Hollywood Reporter that he received messages such as "You're a piece of s**t" and "I hope you die."
Lively's lawsuit, filed in December 2024, accused co-star Justin Baldoni of sexual harassment and other offenses. The suit also named Baldoni's production company, Wayfarer Studios, its CEO, financial backers, and PR personnel. Baldoni had previously sought $250 million in damages from The New York Times for a report he deemed defamatory, later adding to a $400 million suit filed in January 2025. His lawsuit named Lively, her husband Ryan Reynolds, and her publicist Leslie Sloane, but the case was dismissed in June of that year. All parties involved denied the allegations. A judge ultimately dismissed Baldoni's lawsuit in June 2025, followed by Lively's lawsuit in April 2026. The actors reached a settlement in May 2026, announced via a joint statement from their legal teams.
