The house for the upcoming 2026 season of Big Brother has undergone a significant makeover, trading bright colors for a more sophisticated palette of jewel tones and autumnal shades, including dark greens and reds. The redesigned space aims to offer a luxurious feel as 16 new contestants prepare to be cut off from the outside world for up to eight weeks.
A source noted that the house's design is often analyzed by fans for clues about upcoming twists. With cameras covering every inch, the Diary Room remains the only sanctuary for contestants seeking alone time.
The layout retains familiar elements, including a garden snug for conversations and potential rule-breaking. The bathroom's open design, featuring a double shower, offers little privacy. In the bedroom, one elevated double bed suggests a potential twist, possibly for guests with short-lived stays.
Hosts AJ Odudu and Will Best will return for their fourth civilian run of the show. They have hinted at numerous twists planned for the series, suggesting the house might feel like 'a new house every week.' Both hosts have expressed enthusiasm for the possibility of former housemates returning.
"I'm always open to old faces returning. I think it's fun," Will Best told The Sun. "And you know, if you bring people in, there's a lot of people with unfinished business in that house."
The spin-off show, Late and Live, has been replaced by a vodcast titled Big Brother: The Group Chat, which will be hosted by GK Barry and former contestant Kate Lawler. This new show is scheduled to air Sundays through Thursdays following the main episode and will feature interviews and gossip with guests and evicted housemates.
Last year's competition concluded with Richard Storry as the winner and Elsa Rae as the runner-up. Reports indicate that a planned return for Celebrity Big Brother earlier this year was scrapped due to difficulties in attracting high-caliber celebrity contestants.
Big Brother is set to premiere on Sunday, September 13, at 9 p.m. on ITV2 and ITVX. The series is expected to be ITV's longest to date, with further details on format changes yet to be revealed.
