The historic Bayeux Tapestry has arrived in London, marking its first return to the United Kingdom in more than nine centuries. The 70-meter-long 11th-century embroidery, which details the events leading up to the Battle of Hastings and the Norman Conquest of England in 1066, was transported from northern France under police escort during the night.

Preparations are now underway for the tapestry to go on public display at the British Museum beginning in September. The artifact is believed to have been created in England nearly 1,000 years ago.

This exhibition represents a significant cultural event, allowing contemporary audiences to view an artifact that has not been seen in the UK since its creation. The journey to London involved meticulous planning to ensure the safe transit of the priceless work.
