Bank of America's free Fan Bands have emerged as a highly sought-after accessory for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, drawing fans to customization stations at events and stadiums across all 11 host cities. The bank is distributing these personalized charm bracelets, allowing attendees to select a band and choose from 140 collectible beads. Fans are reportedly waiting in lines exceeding two hours to create their unique mementos.

The Fan Bands offer charms representing various host cities, such as a Lady Liberty or yellow taxi for New York City, a Golden Gate Bridge and surfboard for San Francisco, a Philadelphia cheesesteak, and an Atlanta peach. Other popular charms include a miniature World Cup trophy and a Boston lobster.

More than 2 million Bank of America Fan Bands and 10 million beads have been distributed so far. To increase accessibility, Bank of America is launching a mobile bus tour on the East and West coasts to reach more soccer enthusiasts. Pre-made, matchup-themed bands are also available at different stadiums for specific games.

Despite the significant production, some fans are still unable to obtain the bands. Those who have secured them express satisfaction with the collectible as a keepsake for their World Cup experience. "I waited 3 hours for my bracelet. SO WORTH IT!" one Instagram user stated.

The popularity of the free Fan Bands has also led to resale activity, with some bracelets appearing on platforms like eBay and Poshmark for up to $500. For international tourists and domestic fans alike, these free commemorative items offer a tangible connection to the event, especially given the high cost of match tickets.

In addition to the Fan Bands, other popular souvenir items at World Cup venues and FIFA Fan Festivals include blind bags containing miniature mascot toys, soccer balls, and referees. Coca-Cola's customized souvenir cups, featuring the day's participating teams, have also been a hit at $4.

Bank of America is also a partner in providing free World Cup tickets for Veterans, Current Military, and First Responders, contributing $2.25 million towards this initiative. https://nypost.com/2026/06/25/lifestyle/bank-of-america-giving-away-fifa-world-cup-2026-collectible-bracelets/
