The Australian comedy series "Colin From Accounts" will conclude with its upcoming third season, co-creators and stars Harriet Dyer and Patrick Brammall announced Wednesday.

In a social media message, the real-life married couple shared that while season three is on its way, it will be the show's final installment. "Creatively, it just feels like the right time for these characters and for this world," the pair stated, adding, "We don't want to flog a dead horse, comedy comes in threes."

Dyer and Brammall expressed regret for any fan disappointment but affirmed their decision. "We are sorry if you are disappointed. We are going to miss it terribly. We love making TV for you guys and we just want to say bye, we'll see you around," they said.

Fans reacted with sadness to the news, with many expressing a desire for the show to continue. "NO please flog the dead horse!" one commenter wrote, while another suggested, "Flog it forever."
