ARN has announced Ash London and Elliot Garnaut as the new hosts for KIIS FM's Melbourne breakfast radio show. The appointment comes after the departure of Kyle Sandilands and Jackie 'O' Henderson, whose Sydney-based show previously covered both the Sydney and Melbourne markets.
The move signifies a return to ARN's strategy of having separate breakfast shows for Sydney and Melbourne. Sandilands and Henderson's joint venture into the Melbourne market in 2024 was reportedly met with ratings challenges.
London, a well-known radio personality, previously hosted "Ash London Live" on Southern Cross Austereo and the Hit Network, and co-hosted 2Day FM's breakfast show. She and her husband, Adrian Brine, who is set to join KIIS Melbourne as Content Director, have returned to Australia from New Zealand's MediaWorks.
Garnaut is a fashion personality who will co-host the new breakfast program with London.
The KIIS FM Sydney breakfast slot remains open, with a series of guest presenters filling in. The network has hinted at a broader programming overhaul, posting on social media last week about "a new era is coming."
The search for new hosts followed the abrupt termination of Henderson's KIIS FM contract in March, which occurred after a public on-air dispute with Sandilands. Sandilands later settled his own contract dispute with ARN in June. Henderson has reportedly filed a lawsuit against her former employer, seeking $82 million in damages, and a medical report referencing a post-traumatic stress disorder diagnosis was cited in her case. Sandilands has commented on Henderson's diagnosis, reportedly stating he was left in tears upon learning of it.
