Red Hot Chili Peppers frontman Anthony Kiedis, 63, was photographed with his 31-year-old girlfriend, Eileen Kelly, during a night out in Beverly Hills on Friday. The couple were seen sharing a kiss on the street after a dinner date at the restaurant E. Baldi.
Kiedis and Kelly, a sex educator and author, walked hand-in-hand from the eatery before mounting Kiedis' motorcycle. They put on their helmets and jackets before departing. Kiedis wore a dark denim jacket over a graphic t-shirt, black jeans, and sneakers, while Kelly opted for a black graphic tank top, fitted jeans, and kitten heels, later adding a pale green hoodie.
This public appearance follows recent commentary regarding Kiedis' relationships with significantly younger women. Irish media personality Vogue Williams, in a recent podcast episode, criticized Kiedis for his dating history, specifically mentioning his past relationship with Australian model Helena Vestergaard when she was a teenager and he was in his early 50s. Williams stated on her podcast, "My Therapist Ghosted Me," that while Kiedis had not broken the law, his choices were "really disappointing."
In April, Kelly addressed the 33-year age gap in her relationship with Kiedis in an essay published in Vogue. While she did not name Kiedis directly, she described dating someone "more than twice [her] age" as her "first time dating someone significantly older." She noted that she had been "missing out my whole life" and also shared that public commentary, including being mistaken for his daughter, had led to "incredibly awkward" situations.
Kiedis and Kelly were first rumored to be dating in February after being seen together at Charli XCX's post-Grammys party. Their relationship has been public knowledge since then, with Kelly sharing her perspective on their age difference earlier this year.
Kiedis, when not touring with the Red Hot Chili Peppers, is a father to his 18-year-old son, Everly Bear Kiedis, with his ex-girlfriend Heather Christie. He has previously spoken about the joys of fatherhood, describing it in a 2012 interview as something that "really gives you energy" and makes people better.
