Netflix is bringing new "Stranger Things" content to its platform this fall, but it will be in the form of an animated spin-off, not a new season of the original live-action series. "Stranger Things: Tales From '85" is set to return for its second season on Thursday, September 17, at 12:01 a.m. PT (3:01 a.m. ET).
The original live-action "Stranger Things" concluded with its fifth season, putting to rest fan theories about additional installments. The animated series, however, offers a continuation of the "Stranger Things" universe.
About "Stranger Things: Tales From '85"
Set in 1985, between the events of the second and third seasons of the main "Stranger Things" series, "Stranger Things: Tales From '85" introduces a new character, Nikki Baxter. Voiced by Odessa A'zion, Nikki is a new student at Hawkins Middle School who joins the familiar group of friends on their adventures. The season's official logline states that with Valentine's Day approaching, the characters must investigate strange ghostly apparitions and a chaotic swarm of creatures appearing around town.
