Amanda Knox, known for her involvement in a high-profile murder case, is facing criticism for an upcoming comedy show at The Edinburgh Festival Fringe. The show, titled "Cartwheel," is described on the festival's website as an exploration of motherhood and how Knox plans to discuss her experiences with her daughter.

Knox was convicted and subsequently acquitted in Italy of the 2007 murder of her British roommate, Meredith Kercher. While Knox has stated she does not joke about Kercher's death, she has said she jokes about "how I was vilified."

Meredith Kercher's sister, Stephanie, told BBC Breakfast that her sibling "wouldn't find these topics of any comedy value." A petition opposing the show, initiated by a friend of Kercher, has garnered over 2,400 signatures. The petition argues that the show disrespects Kercher's memory and could normalize violence against women.

A spokesperson for Knox has stated that the 11-day show, set to begin Friday, is intended to honor Kercher's memory.
