Alicia Vikander and Michael Fassbender graced the red carpet at the 83rd Venice Film Festival on Sunday for the premiere of "The Echo Chamber." Vikander, 37, captivated attendees in a striking blue ruffled gown featuring a thigh-high split and a prominent bow. Fassbender, 49, complemented his wife in a classic black tuxedo and sunglasses.
The film, directed by Andrea Pallaoro, is described as a somber, intimate love story. It centers on a drug-addicted music producer, Leo, played by Luca Marinelli, and an enigmatic physiotherapist, Anne, portrayed by Vikander. Their relationship is characterized by intense attachment, care, control, and separation. "The Echo Chamber" is adapted from the final screenplay by the late Italian filmmaker Bernardo Bertolucci and is a contender for the Golden Lion.
Also in attendance were co-stars Susan Sarandon, 79, who wore a black strapless gown, and Luca Marinelli. Orlando Bloom also appeared at the event in an all-black tuxedo. Model Irina Shayk, 40, drew attention in a vintage Dolce & Gabbana dress with tie-up detailing, a look that mirrored Bella Hadid's 21st birthday attire.
Vikander and Fassbender, who met in 2014 and married in 2017, are parents to two sons born in 2021 and 2024. The couple resides in Lisbon, Portugal. Vikander has spoken about their demanding careers, describing their lifestyle as "nomadic" as they navigate work commitments across multiple countries. She stated that they prioritize ensuring one parent is always home with their children, admitting to battling "mum guilt" due to the demands of their professions. The family splits their time between Lisbon, London, Italy, and France, with Vikander noting their weekends are often spent at the beach with their children when in Portugal.
