JetBlue has introduced a new domestic first-class offering named BlueFirst, set to be available for booking in the fall. This new cabin experience features redesigned seats, premium amenities, and upgraded seatback technology, according to an announcement Tuesday.

"Domestic first class has become easy to predict. We think it’s time for a fresh take," JetBlue CEO Joanna Geraghty stated. "Customers are increasingly looking for more premium experiences, and BlueFirst gives them an elevated experience that feels distinctly JetBlue, with thoughtful touches, caring service and great value."

The first aircraft equipped with the new BlueFirst cabin is anticipated to enter service later this year. The redesigned seats will be configured in a two-by-two arrangement, offering 5 inches of recline and up to 7 additional inches of legroom compared to JetBlue's standard economy seats. These seats incorporate Tuft & Needle foam, designed to provide personalized support and pressure relief.

Passengers in BlueFirst will have access to 13.3-inch seatback screens with Bluetooth connectivity, complimentary Fly-Fi internet, and power outlets including USB-A, USB-C, and AC. For overnight flights, travelers will receive a blanket and a snooze kit. "Customers told us loud and clear that comfort matters most, so that’s where we started," Geraghty added.

The cabin will also feature seatback ordering capabilities and a "Mixologist Mode" for creating custom cocktails. On flights covering 899 miles or more, passengers will be served a meal consisting of an entrée, side, and dessert. The airline will also provide rotating premium snacks, sommelier-selected wines, and specialty coffee and teas.

BlueFirst customers are eligible for Group 1 boarding, dedicated overhead bin space, priority check-in, expedited security access at over 30 airports, two free checked bags, and priority baggage delivery. Change and cancellation fees will be waived for BlueFirst and BlueFirst Flex fares.

JetBlue stated that BlueFirst will be implemented in markets where its premium business-class product, Mint, is not currently offered. The airline indicated that further details would be released later this year.
