A private jet crashed in Greenacres, Florida, on November 1, 2026, resulting in a substantial explosion and fire. The incident occurred approximately eight miles from former President Donald Trump's Mar-a-Lago estate and golf course.

Incident Details

Authorities have described the event as a "mass casualty aircraft-related incident." The crash happened around 12:50 p.m. near South Military Trail and Marilyn Drive. Eyewitness accounts from local residents described a loud boom preceding the ground trembling and the eruption of flames. Some individuals reported being "lifted from the ground" by the impact, while others likened the sound to a missile.

Video footage shared on social media captured plumes of smoke billowing from the crash site, with a noticeable crater and scattered debris. The force of the impact was strong enough to topple power lines. All northbound and southbound lanes of Military Trail between Cresthaven Boulevard and 10th Avenue North were closed following the crash.

The aircraft, identified as a Learjet 60, a twin-engine business jet valued at $2 million, was reportedly traveling from Austin, Texas, to North Eleuthera in the Bahamas. Its flight path abruptly ended near West Palm Beach.

Trump's Proximity and Departure

Former President Donald Trump was in Palm Beach on the night of October 31, hosting a Halloween party at Mar-a-Lago. However, it is understood that he had already departed for Iowa for campaign events by the time the jet crashed on November 1.

Officials have not yet confirmed the cause of the crash or the number of potential fatalities or injuries. The area around the crash site includes several businesses and mobile homes.
