Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) plans to eliminate approximately 4,000 jobs over the next two years as the automotive manufacturer navigates significant industry headwinds. The company stated that the majority of these cuts are expected to impact office-based positions.

These workforce reductions come as JLR grapples with intensified competition from Chinese automakers, the economic impact of U.S. tariffs, and the costly transition to producing electric vehicles. The company's existing challenges were further compounded last year by a cyber-attack that led to a production shutdown lasting over a month.

Jaguar Land Rover's chief executive, PB Balaji, emphasized the company's commitment to managing the redundancy process with care, fairness, and respect for affected employees.
