Disney World has implemented further price increases on its hotel accommodations, sparking online criticism from guests who argue the Orlando-based resort is becoming increasingly unaffordable. The new rates, primarily affecting stays in March 2027, follow recent hikes in ticket prices, food, and merchandise.

An avid Disney fan, known online as Disney Clips Guy, highlighted the upcoming changes on X, comparing hotel costs for March 2026 and March 2027. The post revealed significant jumps in nightly rates across various resorts.

For example, a standard room at Disney's Pop Century Resort, considered a value option, is set to increase. In mid-March 2027, weeknight stays will cost $325 per night including tax, and weekend stays will be $388 per night. This is up from $281 per night on weeknights and $341 on weekends in March 2026.

At Disney's Coronado Springs Resort, weeknight rates in March 2027 are slated to be $416 per night, with weekend nights at $500. These rates are higher than the March 2026 prices of $341 on weeknights and $378 on weekends. Staying at Disney's Coronado Springs Resort will cost $416 per night on weeknights in March 2027 and $500 per night on weekends

Further up the price scale, Disney's BoardWalk Villas will see weeknight rates rise from $918 to $1,033 per night in March 2027, while weekend nights will increase from $1,001 to $1,118. Over at Disney's BoardWalk Villas, rooms are set to rise from $918 to $1,033 per night for weeknights in mid-March 2027, and go from $1,001 to $1,118 per night for weekends

The Disney Clips Guy noted these increases, expressing concern that "the starting price for Coronado is creeping up there for sure." The post ignited a wave of negative reactions, with many commenters expressing frustration over the rising costs. Some stated that the park has become "untouchable for many families" and is "unaffordable now even for well off people."

Others pointed out the increasing cost of the Pop Century Resort, arguing that its value proposition is diminishing. "You can rent a VRBO house for less," one user commented. Several expressed sentiments of no longer being able to afford to visit, with one noting, "Glad I had the opportunity to take my kids many years ago. We could never afford it these days. Very sad."

These hotel price adjustments occur as other aspects of a Disney World visit have also seen significant price increases. The cost of a one-day ticket to the Magic Kingdom surpassed $200 for peak dates in 2026, a substantial rise from a decade ago when tickets ranged from $111 to $132. Disney has doubled the cost of its one-day tickets to Disney World in the last decade

In addition to tickets and hotels, prices for food and merchandise have also climbed. For instance, the Lightning Lane Multi Pass increased from $39 to $45 on peak days this year. Parking prices for non-resort guests rose from $30 to $35. In the fall, hundreds of menu items saw price hikes, and merchandise, such as Mickey ear headbands, also became more expensive. For a family of four, Disney's Pop Century Resort will cost $325 per night including tax on weeknights in mid-March 2027 for a standard room, and $388 per night on weekends

These cumulative price increases across various park amenities have fueled concerns among visitors about the overall cost of experiencing Disney World.
