British YouTuber and musician Andres Felipe Valencia Barrientos, known as Yung Filly, has denied sexually penetrating a 20-year-old woman without consent and assaulting her following a performance in Perth, Australia. Barrientos, 30, pleaded not guilty to six counts of sexual penetration without consent and three counts of assault occasioning bodily harm, as well as impeding the woman's breathing.
During his trial on Monday, Barrientos testified that he met the woman at a nightclub called Bar1 after his gig. He stated that while they were chatting, he fancied her and "the vibes were good, and she had a really good energy about her." The woman had previously told the court that Barrientos had put his hands down her pants and touched her breast in the club, allegations he denied. "It didn't happen," Barrientos said. "I recall putting my hand on her waist."
Barrientos also contradicted the alleged victim's account of being given tequila shots, stating that the drinks were distributed by the bar manager. When questioned about inviting the woman back to his hotel, he recalled asking, "Do you want to come home with me?" The woman had testified that Barrientos told her she was accompanying him to his room.
CCTV footage presented in court showed Barrientos and others leaving the venue in a white mini-van, with the woman following shortly after and stepping into the vehicle. "All I remember is me leaving in front of her… and before I know it she was in the vehicle," Barrientos told the court.
He further testified about their arrival at the InterContinental hotel, stating, "The vibes were good; we walked through the concierge and got into the lift… and I went into my room with (the woman)."
Barrientos acknowledged that the woman's phone was taken from her, explaining, "It is standard practice for someone in the limelight to protect privacy." The trial is ongoing.
