Police were required to intervene on Friday night after a large Halloween party at a $10 million mansion in Sydney's eastern suburbs spiraled out of control, drawing emergency services to the scene.
Authorities responded to the property on Eastbourne Avenue in Clovelly around 8:50 p.m. after the event, attended by an estimated 200 people, spilled into surrounding streets. Gatecrashers reportedly jumped a fence to gain entry. One local resident complained on Facebook that "drunk kids everywhere" were attempting to enter her adjacent property. Paramedics set up a treatment station for intoxicated partygoers, and one individual was taken to Prince of Wales Hospital. No arrests or property damage were reported by NSW Police, though officers remained at the location until the crowds dispersed. Some revellers were later moved on from Waverley Cemetery.
Separately, police also dispersed a large party in Sydney's northwest. Hundreds of teenagers gathered at a house in Marsden Park, leading to hundreds spilling into the streets. CCTV footage showed a large group being told to move on, with some becoming unruly. During the police operation, an 18-year-old man was treated for a slash wound to his arm following an altercation with another partygoer. A 17-year-old boy was arrested and charged with reckless wounding and possessing a prohibited drug. He was refused bail and appeared before a children's court on Saturday.
