Prince William and Princess Anne joined European royals on Tuesday at the state funeral of King Harald V of Norway, who died on August 28 at the age of 89. The Prince of Wales represented his father, King Charles, at the service held at Oslo Cathedral. Princess Anne attended in a private capacity as godmother to the new king, Haakon VIII.
Thousands gathered in the Norwegian capital to bid farewell to King Harald, Europe's oldest monarch, who had reigned for 35 years. Other senior royals present included King Felipe of Spain and Princess Charlene of Monaco. King Frederik and Queen Mary of Denmark, along with King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia of Sweden, also walked behind the coffin draped with the Norwegian royal standard.
