A pregnant British woman, Claire Chadwick, 40, has died along with her unborn child in Nigeria. Chadwick, who was 37 weeks pregnant, passed away from septic shock after experiencing medical complications. Her unborn baby died in the womb before Chadwick developed sepsis and subsequently died.
Chadwick had moved to Nigeria to start a new life with her husband, Ibrahim. The couple had gained a following on social media platforms like TikTok and Instagram, where they shared videos about food challenges, their faith, and their relationship.
Her family has initiated a GoFundMe campaign with a goal of £10,000 to repatriate her body to the UK. Her sister, Shannon, stated that the family wishes for both Chadwick and her unborn daughter to be brought back to the UK for a dignified burial among loved ones. Chadwick is also survived by her 19-year-old son in Wales and her husband.
Tributes on the GoFundMe page have described Chadwick as a kind, lovely, and humorous individual who made a lasting impression on those who knew her.
