A dispute over luggage space on a flight at El Dorado International Airport in Bogota, Colombia, erupted into a physical fight between two passengers, requiring intervention from others onboard.
Video footage captured the incident, which occurred shortly before the plane was scheduled to depart. The footage shows one man reaching over a seat to grab the passenger in front of him. The victim attempted to fend off the attacker, who maintained his grip for several seconds. Other passengers intervened, with one individual grabbing the aggressor by his jacket and pulling him away. The attacker was then wrestled into the aisle by another passenger and eventually pinned into an empty row of seats, bringing the confrontation to an end.
The altercation reportedly began when one passenger became angered by another attempting to stow a carry-on bag in the overhead compartment.
This incident follows a similar event in February on a flight from Turkey to Manchester, where a mass brawl broke out, forcing the plane to make an emergency diversion. Witnesses described scenes of chaos, screaming, and physical altercations. The flight was diverted to Brussels, where police took two individuals into custody. Passengers reported that the altercation escalated after one individual allegedly drank heavily, made racist remarks, and confronted cabin crew. The airline described the behavior as 'appalling' and stated that those involved would face lifetime bans.
