A car crashed off the Interstate 5 freeway in San Diego early Wednesday morning, landing on its side in a backyard and causing lengthy traffic delays. The incident occurred on the southbound I-5 near Balboa Avenue.
The California Highway Patrol is investigating the circumstances that led to the vehicle leaving the freeway and entering a residential area. Video footage captured the white sedan on its side, positioned against a wall behind storage sheds, with visible damage to its front end. At one point, movement was observed inside the car, according to reports.
The crash forced the closure of a lane on the I-5, impacting the morning commute for hours. The extent of any injuries and the specific cause of the accident remain unclear as the investigation continues. The California Post has reached out to the CHP for further information.
