Legendary rock group ZZ Top canceled its highly anticipated performance at the Hollywood Bowl on Wednesday night, hours before the show was scheduled to begin. The band was set to perform alongside Cheap Trick.

ZZ Top issued a statement citing "unforeseen personnel matters" as the reason for the abrupt cancellation. "Insurmountable obstacles require canceling our Hollywood Bowl performance," said the band's frontman, Billy F Gibbons. "Friends, fans and followers of ZZ Top are the best in the business and the band is counting on everyone to bear with us for this brief interruption."

Fans who purchased tickets, as well as parking and transportation passes, will be issued full refunds, according to the announcement. The band did not provide specific details regarding the nature of the personnel issues that led to the cancellation.

ZZ Top, known for hits like "La Grange" and "Sharp Dressed Man," has a long history in rock music. The current lineup features Billy Gibbons and Frank Beard, with Dusty Hill, the band's longtime bassist, having passed away in 2021 at the age of 72. Gibbons is 76 and Beard is 77 years old.

The Hollywood Bowl is a renowned outdoor amphitheater in Los Angeles that hosts a variety of musical acts and performances throughout the year. The venue has a capacity of over 17,000 spectators.
