Rookie kicker Dominic Zvada delivered another perfect performance during New York Giants practice on Monday, making all five of his kicks and continuing to build his case in the team's ongoing competition with Ben Sauls.
Zvada, who spent his final two college seasons at Michigan, has been a consistent presence for the Giants throughout the preseason. His performance on Monday saw him go 5-for-5, while Sauls finished the day 3-for-5. Both kickers made their two attempts during the team's preseason win on Saturday.
The Giants have experienced kicking struggles in recent seasons, marked by injuries to Graham Gano and a notable missed ball by Younghoe Koo. Zvada's reliability this preseason offers a welcome change for the team and its fanbase.
In other practice observations, wide receiver Calvin Austin III, a former teammate of Aaron Rodgers in Pittsburgh, made a notable catch from quarterback Jaxson Dart. Head coach John Harbaugh commented that Austin provides the Giants with significant versatility, capable of playing both inside and outside receiver positions.
Tight end Isaiah Likely had a drop during a no-huddle offensive period. On the injury front, right tackle Jermaine Eluemunor did not practice but is expected to return Tuesday. Guard Francis Mauigoa also did not practice due to a stinger, with a return anticipated for Tuesday. Tight end Theo Johnson left practice early following a collision with defensive player Kayvon Thibodeaux, but Harbaugh indicated it did not appear to be serious. Wide receiver Jalin Hyatt was also absent from practice.
Mason, a rookie, was acquired by the Giants in the seventh round of the 2026 NFL Draft after playing his college football at Michigan.
