A Wyoming mother of two has disappeared, leaving her family to search for her after she failed to pick up her children from an after-school program and posted a cryptic message online. Kandice Gunter, 30, was scheduled to collect her nine and six-year-old children from a youth club in Casper on October 29.
Her sister, Kayla Gunter, reported her missing after the failure to appear, noting that it was completely out of character for Kandice. The sisters typically spoke multiple times a day, but Kandice's calls stopped after October 26.
Kandice had posted on Facebook a few days prior, writing, "Success for me happens in silence." Her sister stated that their last conversation gave no indication that Kandice was planning to leave or cut off contact with her family. "Lord, please just give me a sign my sister is alive. Please," Kayla Gunter wrote in a plea for information.
Gunter had recently moved to Casper from Nevada approximately one month before her disappearance to be closer to her children. Her ex-husband was also reportedly living in the home and assisting with childcare. At the time of her vanishing, her last known location was in Natrona County.
Casper Police Department later tracked Gunter's phone to Gillette, a city about 126 miles away from Casper, on Friday. Gunter was driving a gray 2016 GMC Canyon with Wyoming temporary plates. Police described her as a white female, 5 feet 7 inches tall, with black hair, blue eyes, and multiple tattoos, including one on her neck. Authorities are asking anyone with information about Gunter's whereabouts to contact the Casper Police Department.
