Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has urged NATO leaders to make "strong decisions" to counter Russian aggression, issuing his appeal as Russia launched another deadly attack on Kyiv and ahead of a NATO summit. Zelensky stated that "the United States and Europe have enough strength to stop this terror."
Speaking about his discussions on the frontlines and diplomatic efforts, Zelensky conveyed that there is "a real prospect to put an end to this war, and America’s resolve is decisive." Ukraine has continued to target Russia's oil infrastructure, a key component of Zelensky's strategy to increase economic pressure on Moscow and compel Russia towards negotiations.
Meanwhile, former President Donald Trump reportedly spoke with Russian President Vladimir Putin for approximately 90 minutes, offering to assist in finding a resolution to the conflict. According to Kremlin aide Yuri Ushakov, Trump "reaffirmed his readiness to facilitate an early termination of the hostilities and the search for peaceful solutions to the crisis." Ushakov described the conversation as "business-like," with both leaders acknowledging the significance of U.S.-Russia economic and political relations.
