Grace Kelley, the daughter of country music star Wynonna Judd, was denied a request for temporary release from jail to give birth, according to a recent report. Kelley, 30, is currently incarcerated at the Rockingham County Jail in Harrisonburg, Virginia, serving a 15-month sentence after pleading guilty in June to felony driving with a suspended or revoked license.
Kelley's legal team had requested a temporary furlough on July 2, but a judge denied the request two weeks later. Instead, the Rockingham County Sheriff's Office is expected to escort Kelley to the hospital for a scheduled Cesarean section. It remains unclear if the procedure has taken place.
Kelley is due to give birth around August 16. She previously welcomed a daughter, Kaliyah, in April 2022. At that time, she was granted a leave of absence from jail to give birth. The four-year-old Kaliyah currently resides with Judd on her Tennessee farm.
Court documents indicate that Kelley has had no contact with her biological family in Tennessee and receives no support from that side of the family, including her biological mother. Kelley's criminal history dates back to 2015. She is scheduled to be released from jail on November 16 and will then serve five years of supervised probation.
Judd has spoken sparingly about raising Kaliyah, noting in a January 2025 interview that her goal is "food, family and fun" for her granddaughter. She described their life on the farm as "simple and sweet."
