WWE superstar Roxanne Perez has urged fans to respect wrestlers' personal boundaries, particularly when encountering them off-duty. While expressing deep appreciation for her supporters, Perez highlighted the need for discretion regarding interactions at hotels and airports.
"I love my fans so much. We wouldn’t be able to do what we do without the fans," Perez stated in an interview with OutKick Dropkick prior to her match for the AAA Reina de Reinas Championship at Triplemania 34 in Las Vegas. She acknowledged that fans admire wrestlers and that meeting them is a significant event, but stressed the importance of choosing appropriate times and places for such interactions.
Perez likened hotels to the wrestlers' homes while on the road and noted the difficulty of declining autograph requests when trying to catch flights. "It does break my heart to tell people no, but at the same time, we do have to respect everybody’s privacy," she said. "We are just humans. We’re trying to live our life while also trying to make the fans happy. But there’s gotta be some line."
She emphasized that this call for boundaries does not diminish her appreciation for the fanbase. "We do love you guys, OK?" Perez added.
Perez's comments echo sentiments shared by other wrestling personalities. Earlier this year, Major League Wrestling star Scarlett Bordeaux advised fellow women wrestlers on how to protect their personal information online. Former WWE star Paige also recently spoke out about uncomfortable encounters with autograph seekers at airports.
WWE performers often engage with fans through special access events, but the line between fan interaction and intrusion can become blurred, especially in public spaces like airports and hotels where wrestlers are trying to maintain a semblance of personal life.
