A 23-year-old Wisconsin woman has been charged with impersonating a public employee and exposing children to harmful descriptions after allegedly posing as a substitute teacher at Rufus King International High School in Milwaukee. The incident occurred on September 24, according to court records.

Prosecutors allege that Amy L. Jones, who previously attended the school, gained access by claiming to be a substitute teacher for the day. School staff reportedly allowed her into a classroom to cover for one of the eight teachers absent that day. Jones had allegedly scouted the school grounds beforehand, and had signed a substitute teacher sign-in sheet the previous week.

Students reported that Jones began organizing them by race and gender, and used profane language, including racial slurs and sexually derogatory statements. Videos recorded by students reportedly show Jones cursing at a pupil and describing explicit sexual acts to male students. According to documents, one student reported Jones making racist statements toward white classmates, using phrases such as "white as s--t" and "white motherf---ers."

Jones also allegedly played loud rap music, made fun of students for their weight, looks, race, and finances, and called one student "fatty." She reportedly asked students for marijuana and vapes, calling them "lame" and "annoying" when they did not comply.

After leaving the classroom, students reported Jones's behavior to school staff. The principal contacted the agency that supplies substitute teachers, which confirmed Jones was not on their roster. Police arrested Jones and took her to Milwaukee County Jail. During an interview, Jones reportedly expressed excitement about the incident, believing it would make her "famous." She told police she had trespassed because she was "bored."

Jones remains in custody awaiting an October 20 court date.
