Sheriff's deputies responded to former Vice President Kamala Harris' home in Malibu on Friday night after an uninvited woman appeared at the property on two separate occasions. The woman, who arrived via Uber, initially attempted to contact security at the $8 million residence and was told to leave. She returned later, prompting Harris' security detail to contact the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

Deputies were dispatched to the property after 10 p.m. The woman was not arrested. Authorities have stated they are increasing patrols of the area for safety reasons.

Neither Harris nor Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff were at the residence when the incidents occurred, according to a spokesperson for Harris. The spokesperson confirmed that security personnel intercepted an individual who had "illegally entered Vice President Harris and Second Gentleman [Doug] Emhoff’s property before the individual reached the home." They expressed gratitude to the responding security and law enforcement personnel.

Harris and Emhoff purchased the Malibu property in January. The former vice president has a history in California, having previously served as District Attorney of San Francisco, Attorney General of California, and a U.S. Senator representing the state before joining the Biden administration.

In a separate incident in 2022, a man broke into the San Francisco home of then-House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and attacked her husband. The assailant was later sentenced to life in prison without parole.
