Leony Wilks, 26, has been sentenced to 34 months in prison for smuggling MDMA tablets and cannabis into HMP Feltham while posing as a solicitor. Wilks visited inmate Quentin Oyet-Ayella, 28, on two occasions in March 2025, using a fabricated identity from a law firm called Liberty Law.
CCTV footage captured Wilks laughing as she handed drugs to Oyet-Ayella during a legal visit. On March 5, 2025, she concealed an unspecified amount of MDMA in her bra. During a subsequent visit on March 12, 2025, she concealed MDMA tablets, 137 grams of cannabis, and tobacco in her underwear and coat pocket.
Prison officers became suspicious after smelling cannabis following the pair's departure from the visiting room. A subsequent body scan of Oyet-Ayella revealed three MDMA tablets, cannabis wrapped in tinted film, and 131 grams of tobacco. An unauthorized mobile phone, believed to have been used to contact Wilks, was also found in the ceiling of his cell.
A search of Wilks's residence uncovered an additional 41 grams of cannabis. The court heard that Wilks, from Lambeth, London, had used forged paperwork and dressed professionally for the visits. Her defense argued that she was given the forged documents and drugs by others and did not profit from the offense.
Sentencing Wilks at Isleworth Crown Court, Recorder Nicola Williams noted Wilks's past experiences and mental health issues, stating she was "being led into certain things." The judge warned Wilks that she was at a "fork in the road" and that further offenses could lead to lengthy prison sentences. Wilks, who has no prior convictions, had been on remand for 511 days. She is also awaiting trial for possession of a prohibited firearm.
Oyet-Ayella, who was serving a six-year sentence for possession of a handgun at the time, pleaded guilty to possessing a mobile phone, MDMA, cannabis, and tobacco within the prison. He received a nine-month sentence, considered time served. The nature of Wilks's relationship with Oyet-Ayella was not disclosed in court.
