A 35-year-old woman was discovered dead Sunday evening inside her Bronx apartment, bearing extensive bruises on her body, prompting police to investigate the incident as a potential homicide. The woman has been identified as Jasmine Chisolm.
Authorities responded to a 911 call at an apartment on East 158th Street near Courtlandt Avenue in Melrose around 6:30 p.m. Upon arrival, officers found Chisolm with visible marks on her head and face. Emergency medical services transported her to Lincoln Medical Center, where she was initially reported in stable condition. However, she succumbed to her injuries several hours later.
Law enforcement sources indicated that Chisolm's boyfriend made the initial 911 call reporting her condition. The exact cause of death is pending an official determination by the city's medical examiner's office. As of Monday afternoon, no arrests had been made in connection with the case.
