Wolverhampton's railway station is currently hosting a five-day Wellbeing Week, an initiative designed to bolster mental health and general wellbeing. The event, which began recently, is timed to coincide with World Suicide Prevention Day on Thursday.
The program is a collaborative effort between West Midlands Railway and the mental health charity Rethink Mental Illness. Activities are taking place at The Hub, a dedicated space at the station that opened in May of the previous year to assist individuals experiencing crises.
Attendees can engage in a variety of activities, including poetry performances, gardening workshops, art, and music. Representatives from West Midlands Railway stated that visitors would receive personal support and information. Kirsten Rose of Rethink Mental Illness emphasized that the event's purpose is to raise awareness and foster more open, normalized conversations about mental health.
