An individual who threw a green sex toy onto the court during a WNBA game between the Atlanta Dream and the Los Angeles Sparks at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles on Thursday, August 20, 2026, has been arrested and faces stern punishment. The alleged perpetrator received an indefinite ban from all WNBA, NBA, and affiliated league games and events, according to Front Office Sports.

The incident occurred with 2:59 remaining in the third quarter, with the Dream leading 84-53. The object landed near the Sparks' bench as forward Jihyun Park prepared to shoot free throws. Sparks center Cameron Brink was seen kicking the item away before security removed it.

Video footage showed the individual, reportedly wearing a Lakers No. 77 Luka Doncic jersey, running from the stands and pushing a security guard. Atlanta Dream star Angel Reese was seen pointing out the individual to security.

This marks the latest in a series of similar incidents. The WNBA addressed numerous instances of sex toys being thrown onto courts across various cities, including Atlanta, Chicago, New York, Phoenix, and Los Angeles, during the previous season. A sex toy was also thrown during a game between the Dream and the Golden State Valkyries in Georgia on July 29, 2025. In August 2025, four other WNBA games were interrupted by similar disruptions.

Last season, a cryptocurrency group claimed responsibility for many of the disruptions. The group identified 18-year-old Kaden Lopez as being involved in an incident in Phoenix, where he was arrested. Delbert Carver was arrested for a similar incident in Georgia.

A league spokesperson previously stated that the WNBA was working with law enforcement to pursue appropriate actions, including potential felony charges, against those involved in such conduct.
