Witney Carson has officially stepped down from her role as Robert Irwin's "wingwoman," citing the task as "overwhelming." The professional dancer, who partnered with the wildlife conservationist for Season 34 of "Dancing With the Stars," revealed her decision in an interview with Page Six's "Virtual Reali-Tea."

Carson explained that her matchmaking duties for Irwin, 22, became too stressful. "I have completely dropped that because it was so overwhelming for me," she admitted. "I was like, ‘I’m not a matchmaker. This is not for me.’ It was too stressful."

During the "DWTS" competition last fall, Irwin's single status led to an influx of messages from potential romantic interests in his direct messages. Carson and Irwin's sister, Bindi Irwin, initially took on the role of vetting these messages. However, Carson noted that Bindi also distanced herself, saying, "She’s like, ‘I can’t deal with it anymore. It’s up to you now.'"

Carson and Irwin even humorously documented their "wingman" efforts in an Instagram video with a caption that read, "Witney taking the wingman job very seriously."

Despite stepping back from the matchmaking, Carson and Irwin went on to win the Len Goodman Mirrorball Trophy, marking Carson's second "DWTS" win and a continuation of the Irwin family's success on the show, as Bindi Irwin won Season 21 in 2015. The duo also reunited for the spinoff series "Dancing With the Stars: The Next Pro," where they shared a dance and co-hosted the finale. Carson praised Irwin's hosting abilities on the show, calling him "passionate" and "a beautiful person to work with."

Looking ahead, Carson is preparing for "Dancing With the Stars" Season 35, where she will be partnered with Guillermo Rodriguez of "Jimmy Kimmel Live." Notably, Carson announced on "Good Morning America" that she will be competing while pregnant with her third child. "It wasn’t on my Bingo card to be competing on ‘Dancing With the Stars’ and be four months pregnant," she said, adding that she hopes Rodriguez will be supportive throughout the season.
