The Winnipeg Jets joined the online buzz surrounding LeBron James's free agency by playfully mocking a recent Miami Heat YouTube blunder. The NBA team accidentally uploaded a page titled “LeBron James Introductory Press Conference” to its official YouTube channel, which was quickly taken down but not before fans noticed and the incident went viral.

The Heat explained the upload was a mistake, intended only as preparation for a potential reunion with James. However, the incident fueled speculation and altered betting odds regarding his future team.

In response, the official Winnipeg Jets X account posted that their own YouTube channel had LeBron James's introductory press conference scheduled for July 27. The post included a link to a real, scheduled live stream on the Jets' YouTube account with the same title. The accompanying thumbnail featured a photoshopped image of James in a Jets jersey with the caption "DON’T UPLOAD THIS YET!" The Jets also tagged NBACentel, a parody account known for humorously reporting fake news.

This playful social media move aligns with the Jets' established online persona, which often features unserious content, including posts about a spineless raccoon and meatballs.

ESPN analyst Kendrick Perkins suggested the Heat's YouTube leak indicates serious consideration for James's return to Miami. "This means that Miami is really in the hunt. LeBron could possibly end up back in South Beach," Perkins said on "Get Up." He noted it as the first significant clue from an organization that James might be interested in.

NFL reporter Adam Schefter also indicated a strong possibility of James returning to Miami. Citing a text from a Miami source, Schefter remarked on an appearance on Philadelphia sports radio, "Where there's smoke, there's fire."
