Whoopi Goldberg has stated that her salary from her role as a co-host on ABC's "The View" is substantial, to the point where many would be shocked if they saw her paycheck. Goldberg, who has been with the show since 2007, shared these remarks on the "Baby, this is Keke Palmer" podcast.

"No, no, you can’t," Goldberg told podcast host Keke Palmer when asked if listeners could fathom her salary. "Trust me. You can’t. You would be shocked." She added, "As soon as they showed you that check, you’d be like, ‘What the!?’"

While Goldberg did not disclose a specific figure, she implied the amount is significant. She also noted that her role on "The View" is not her highest-paying job, though she did not identify the role that paid more. Goldberg indicated that she would consider leaving "The View" for the right opportunity, stating, "I constantly say to people, ‘Yes, I’m still open for this,’ and especially now because people say, ‘Well you’re on ‘The View,’ you can’t do anything’ — you know, if I need to go, I go."

A source previously told Page Six that Goldberg, along with fellow co-hosts Joy Behar, Sunny Hostin, Sara Haines, Ana Navarro, and Alyssa Farah Griffin, experienced pay cuts starting with the show's 29th season in September 2025. The source indicated that Goldberg earns a mid-seven-figure salary and is the highest-paid among the current hosts. This source also mentioned that the hosts' wardrobe budget was affected, leading to dissatisfaction as they shifted from designer clothing allowances to a budget comparable to "a Wendy Williams-type show versus a marquee daytime show."

Goldberg has previously been candid about working on "The View" to earn a living. In November 2024, she stated, "I appreciate that people are having a hard time. Me too. I work for a living." She further elaborated, "If I had all the money in the world, I would not be here, OK? So, I’m a working person, you know?" On the podcast, she reiterated this sentiment, explaining that she has to support herself as she "never married well."
