Whitney Fransway, a familiar face from Bachelor Nation, shared her experiences filming the Bravo series 'In The City,' revealing that she felt more apprehension joining this show than her previous stints on 'The Bachelor' and 'Bachelor In Paradise.' Fransway attributed this heightened anxiety to Bravo's reputation for intense drama and a desire to protect her relationship with boyfriend Kenny Martin.
During the season, Fransway's relationship with Martin became a focal point for discussion among her castmates. She acknowledged the scrutiny, particularly her decision to move across the country for Martin without being engaged, stating, "I know I moved across the country for him without a ring, but it’s pretty normal to live with someone before you get engaged." Fransway and Martin navigated the public attention by emphasizing their communication and presenting a united front.
On-Screen Conflict
A notable conflict arose between Fransway and castmate Lindsay Hubbard regarding a room assignment during a cast trip. Fransway commented that Hubbard used the "single mom card" to avoid giving up a primary suite to Yvonne Najor. Fransway maintained that her intention was not malicious but rather to suggest Hubbard prioritize friendship by making a gesture for Yvonne. She expressed surprise at the reunion when Hubbard indicated significant distress over the comment, despite an apparent resolution in the season finale.
"I was shocked," Fransway said. "People saw that I was very clear with my what my intent was. She took it down a whole different lane that it wasn’t even about."
Fransway's partner, Kenny Martin, defended her during the reunion, delivering a line directed at Hubbard: "you collect apologies like you collect souls." Fransway acknowledged his support, while reiterating that her comment was not intended as an attack on Hubbard's parenting, which she respects.
Unexpected Support
Reflecting on her first 'In The City' reunion, Fransway described it as "terrifying" and more intense than her previous experiences on 'The Bachelor.' She noted a naivete about the potential for heightened conflict on a Bravo production. Despite the on-screen drama, Fransway revealed she received unexpected support from another Bravo personality, Paige DeSorbo.
"Surprisingly, Paige DeSorbo reached out to me," Fransway shared. "She sent me a really sweet message last week, just saying that she’s here if I need any advice. She knows this experience can be a lot. It was nice to feel the support from her."
'In The City' airs Tuesdays at 9 p.m. ET/PT on Bravo, with new episodes available to stream on Peacock the following day.
