Lynne Patton, a senior official in the Trump White House, is reportedly living in a luxury penthouse in Rosslyn, Virginia, owned by Ryan Coyne, a lobbyist who has registered with the Department of Justice to represent foreign governments, including Vietnam and the Republic of Somaliland. Multiple sources and text messages reviewed by the Daily Mail indicate Patton resides in the penthouse, purchased by Coyne for $3.2 million in September 2020, without paying rent.

This living arrangement has reportedly alarmed officials within the White House, who note that Coyne's residence also serves as the registered working office for his foreign lobbying operations. Coyne's firm, Tactic COC LLC, was registered in May 2025 to lobby for the Embassy of Vietnam and a private Vietnamese company, aiming to influence U.S. tariffs. In June 2026, Coyne also filed a registration statement identifying the Republic of Somaliland as a foreign principal for his firm CRB Global LLC, noting his services include political activity.

Patton, who serves as Deputy Assistant to the President for Coalition Policy and Engagement, has a documented history with the Trump family, previously serving as an event planner and senior aide for Eric Trump's foundation. Her appointment to the White House followed a period of debarment from federal employment due to Hatch Act violations.

Coyne has been a frequent guest at official events attended by Patton, including White House functions and gatherings at Mar-a-Lago. Text messages reviewed by the Daily Mail suggest Patton leveraged her access to facilitate meetings for Coyne and Caroline Wren, another GOP fundraiser listed as a consultant for the Vietnamese principals, with diplomats at Mar-a-Lago's Beach Club.

The penthouse has also reportedly served as a hub for social gatherings, including an invitation for "Breakfast & IV Therapy at Ryan's" during inauguration week in January 2025. Photographs from these events show guests, including those associated with Elon Musk's companies, receiving intravenous drips.

White House insiders have also reportedly discussed Patton's drinking habits. Patton has previously spoken about her past struggles with addiction, crediting Eric Trump for helping her overcome a cocaine habit. A White House official told the Daily Mail that Patton maintains "all required ethical standards and is fiscally responsible for all her own residences."

Ethics rules require senior White House officials to disclose gifts, including free housing, on annual financial disclosures and to report cohabitants during security vetting. The White House has not publicly commented on whether Patton has disclosed her living arrangement with Coyne or any benefits received from him. Steven Cheung, a spokesperson, stated that Patton is a "longtime, valued aide and integral part of delivering the President’s agenda."
