U.S. Men’s National Team midfielder Weston McKennie emphasizes the critical role of hydration in athletic performance, identifying coconut water as a key component of his fueling strategy. McKennie, who recently became a global brand ambassador for Vita Coco, stated that "performance starts with what I put into my body" and called hydration "non-negotiable" for training and competing at the highest level.

According to the University of Alabama at Birmingham, electrolytes are essential for the body, particularly during strenuous summer activities. Increased sweating due to heat and humidity can lead to fluid loss and electrolyte imbalance, potentially resulting in dehydration, exhaustion, or heat stroke if not replenished.

Vita Coco Original Coconut Water is noted for containing 3.5 times the electrolytes of the leading sports drink per 500 milliliters. The beverage also provides essential nutrients, carbohydrates, and potassium without artificial dyes or additives. Hydration with the drink can be undertaken before, during, or after workouts to optimize performance and combat dehydration.

In addition to McKennie's partnership, Vita Coco serves as the official hydration partner for Rush Soccer, aiming to enhance the performance of young athletes. The brand has also collaborated with the U.S. Soccer Foundation to develop community fields and provide hydration resources in underserved areas.
