Wendy's is reintroducing its $1 Frosty deal, offering customers the frozen dessert for a limited time this summer. The promotion runs nationwide from July 20 through August 23, providing a low-cost treat amid current economic conditions.

The deal applies to both chocolate and vanilla Frostys and can be redeemed in-restaurant, at the drive-thru, or via the Wendy's app and website. However, the offer is not available for delivery orders, and there is a limit of 10 Frostys per customer.

The Frosty was first introduced in 1969 by Wendy's founder Dave Thomas. Inspired by frozen malts from a local racetrack, Thomas aimed to create a dessert that was a hybrid between a milkshake and soft-serve ice cream. He collaborated with a racetrack ice cream maker to develop a blend of chocolate and vanilla flavors. Today, Wendy's operates in over 7,000 locations globally.

Over the years, the Frosty has seen seasonal variations, including flavors like mint, Snickerdoodle, and Banana Swirl. The dessert has also gained popularity on social media platforms, with some locations offering "puppy-sized" vanilla Frostys for dogs.
