The mansion that served as Wayne Manor in the 1960s television series "Batman" has been listed for sale in Pasadena, California, with a price of $32 million. This Tudor-style estate, built in the 1920s, previously sold for $20.8 million in 2025.
During its time as the iconic residence of Bruce Wayne, the home was featured in 120 episodes of the popular series, which ran from 1966 to 1968 and starred Adam West as Batman and Burt Ward as Robin. The property has also made appearances in films such as "Stand By Me," "Rush Hour," and "Bridesmaids," as well as the television show "Murder She Wrote."
The 19,000-square-foot residence features seven bedrooms and 11 bathrooms, with architectural elements reminiscent of a 17th-century castle, including leaded-glass windows, turrets, and a slate roof. It also boasts a large home theater, a pickleball court, and an outdoor swimming pool with rock waterfalls. Modern upgrades include updated HVAC, plumbing, and sewer systems.
However, acquiring a piece of Hollywood history comes with considerable hidden costs beyond the initial purchase price. Experts note that maintaining a historic property of this scale can incur annual expenses ranging from $300,000 to $600,000. These costs cover taxes, insurance, utilities, and staffing. Ritu Kant Ojha, CEO at Proact Luxury Real Estate, highlighted that the upkeep for such a grand estate is continuous.
Ojha also cautioned that ownership of a famous property can lead to a lack of privacy, with potential for fans visiting the estate and the property remaining in public view indefinitely. The liquidity of such a unique asset may also be a factor, as it could take years to find a buyer.
The property is listed by agents Peter Owens of Christie's International Real Estate SoCal and Shannon Scavo of Maison Real Estate.
