Los Angeles Lakers center Walker Kessler recently became engaged to Abbie Stockard, who was crowned Miss America 2025. The couple has since arrived in Los Angeles, with Stockard sharing her arrival on social media.
Stockard posted a photo on Instagram on July 6, featuring purple and gold balloons, including ones shaped like "L" and "A." The caption read, "touched down in LA 😊." It remains unclear if the balloons were a gift or self-purchased, though Kessler recently signed a four-year, $130 million contract with the Lakers.
The engagement took place over Fourth of July weekend. Stockard announced the news on her Instagram, sharing a photo of the couple and her engagement ring with the caption, "The future Kessler’s. Let’s get y’all married!!!"
Kessler is expected to play a significant role for the Lakers in the upcoming season. His arrival comes as LeBron James is not returning to the franchise, and Rui Hachimura is moving to the cross-town Clippers in free agency. Last season, Kessler averaged 14.4 points and 10.8 rebounds per game with the Utah Jazz.
