Police have launched an urgent appeal to locate Balasankar Narayanan, 46, who fled from a care facility in Ilford, east London, last Thursday. Narayanan was on escorted leave when he ran off from staff in South Park.

Narayanan, described as having a shaved head, was last seen wearing a light green T-shirt, grey and black shorts, black socks with red stripes, and grey shoes. He has links to east, central, and west London, and authorities are asking the public for assistance in finding him.

This is the third time Narayanan has gone missing from care. In August 2024, police issued an appeal after he absconded from a facility while on a supervised walk. At that time, the Metropolitan Police had warned that Narayanan posed a risk to women and was potentially violent. His second disappearance occurred in January 2025, when he went missing in east London again, prompting police to express increasing concern for his safety.

Previous reports indicate Narayanan has connections across London, particularly in areas such as Newham, Greenford, Hammersmith, Highgate, and Ilford. He has also been found in the West Midlands, Essex, and Manchester in the past. The Metropolitan Police have advised the public to call 999 immediately if they see Narayanan, quoting reference CAD 4956/3Sep.
