A video game based on director Uwe Boll's film "Citizen Vigilante," which stars Armie Hammer, has been released. The film, which features Hammer as an American expat eliminating immigrants in Europe, has been widely panned by critics for its muddled plot and anti-immigrant themes. Variety described the project as a "morally bankrupt thriller," while The Guardian called it "very cheap, incoherent and embarrassingly badly acted." Boll himself has stated the film has been banned in Germany.

Despite harsh critical reviews, "Citizen Vigilante" has garnered a 91% audience approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes, with a 10% critic score. This surge in popularity is attributed, in part, to endorsements from Elon Musk and various right-wing influencers. Musk posted the full film on X for 48 hours, where it accumulated over 10 million views. Conservative figures such as Nick Fuentes and Libs of TikTok have also promoted the movie. This reception has led Boll to announce a sequel for 2027, with discussions of potentially casting Gina Carano.

The film's tie-in video game was developed by Daniel Wengenroth of the German studio Polygon Art. Movie tie-in games, once a common marketing practice for films in the 1990s and early 2000s, have become increasingly rare, making this release a notable resurgence of the trend.

The game was purchased for $21.99 on PlayStation 5. Online reviews in the store were polarized, with a 2.74 out of 5 star rating composed almost entirely of one-star and five-star assessments. After playing the game, the reviewer described it as "abysmal, so excruciating and so outdated," leading to questions about their own sanity.
