A progressive veterans group has released a spoof video that satirizes one of Donald Trump's taxpayer-funded advertisements. The ad, created by VoteVets, reimagines Trump's "final battle" message with a critical tone.
Trump's original ad features him walking down a hallway, declaring, "This is the final battle, with you at my side, we will demolish the deep state, we will expel the warmongers from our government, we will drive out the globalists, we will cast out the communists, marxists and fascists. We will throw off the sick political class that hates our country. We will rout the fake news media and we will liberate America from these villains, once and for all."
The VoteVets parody mirrors the visual of Trump walking down a hallway, but the voiceover delivers a drastically altered script. This re-recorded message states, "This is the final battle. With you all turned against me, we will lose the House. We will lose the Senate. They will end my war, bring prices down, drive out the corrupt, cast out the incompetent. And stop us from using your tax dollars for my vanity political ads. Your vote will liberate America, from me."
Throughout the parody, on-screen text and images are used to underscore the satirical points. One moment features a Reuters headline stating, "Trump approval falls to record low of 32% as high costs bite." Later, a screenshot from Fox News displays Trump with his sons, Eric and Donald Trump Jr., accompanied by the caption, "Biggest grift of all time." When the parody voiceover mentions casting out "the incompetent," footage of Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth appears.
