Kleiber Moran, a 2-year-old boy, was rescued on Wednesday, six days after a devastating earthquake struck Venezuela. He was found alive in the rubble, offering a glimmer of hope amidst the widespread destruction.

His aunt, Andreína Sarmiento, who is caring for him in the hospital, expressed her deep relief and determination to provide him with maternal care. "Wherever she went, her son went too," Andreína said of Kleiber's mother, Ana Luz, who remains missing. She described her sister as inseparable from her son and maintained faith that both her sister and brother-in-law would also be found.

Andreína described her close relationship with her sister, stating they spoke daily and that Ana Luz always kept Kleiber by her side. "She is my older sister and I always trusted her and could tell her my problems and whenever I spoke to her on a video call, the child was by her side," Andreína recounted.

Official death tolls have surpassed 2,295, with authorities anticipating the final number to be significantly higher. Tens of thousands are reported missing, and the United Nations is preparing 10,000 body bags, indicating the scale of the tragedy. Despite the grim statistics, Andreína holds onto hope, believing her nephew has "a purpose in the world."
