US military personnel observed "floating orbs" traveling at approximately 480 miles per hour over the Middle East last year, according to recently declassified documents from the Pentagon. The U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) report from 2025 describes "six small spherical objects, grouped together" that were "frequently changing direction."

Accompanying the report was a one-minute video capturing the objects as they moved over what appeared to be a desert landscape.

Additional footage from 2023 shows circular objects observed by an infrared sensor aboard a U.S. military platform over the Yellow Sea. In the same year, a Colorado law enforcement officer recorded a 15-minute cell phone video of a UFO with "red, blue and green flashing lights" that hovered silently.

The declassified files also include records from as far back as 1952. Documents from the office of the U.S. Air Force Director of Intelligence detail "flying disc" incidents recorded between September and December of that year. In July 1952, a Navy warrant officer captured footage of what appeared to be flying discs near Tremonton, Utah.

This film, taken by chief warrant officer Delbert Newhouse on July 2, 1952, with a Bell and Howell auto master camera, was reviewed by Project Blue Book, the U.S. Air Force's UFO investigation program from 1952 to 1969. Investigators explored whether the objects could have been "pillow balloons," contacting the sole manufacturer at the time. However, an Air Force Photo Reconnaissance Lab analysis in 1956 concluded that the lights in the film were likely caused by seagulls. Another analysis suggested the brightness of the objects exceeded that of natural reflective objects like birds.

The release of these files follows an executive order signed by President Trump in February 2026, which declassified a significant portion of information regarding the government's investigations into unresolved UFO sightings.

In a separate incident from 1952, the day before Newhouse filmed his footage, an unidentified correspondent reported seeing a large, elongated oval object approximately 100 feet in length.

Another video from 2023 captured circular objects flying over the Yellow Sea.
