U.S. Central Command forces conducted additional airstrikes against Iran on Wednesday, the second consecutive day of military action. The strikes aim to degrade Iran's ability to threaten freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz, according to a statement from U.S. Central Command.
These actions follow a previous day's operations that hit more than 80 targets. The White House stated the United States is holding Iran accountable for recent "unjustified aggression against commercial shipping and civilian crews."
Earlier on Wednesday, President Trump declared a cease-fire "over" and indicated a reluctance to engage further with Iranian leadership, describing them as "sick."
The military action underscores escalating tensions in the vital international waterway.
